The Business and Economic Research Center (BERC) is an applied research center that shall be based in Ramallah city and affiliated to Al-Quds Open University (QOU). The ultimate goal of BERC is to promote excellence in research on business and economic studies in QOU and Palestine. The center shall be fully dedicated to producing sound, innovative policy research that aims at fostering business, economic, and socio-economic development in the Palestinian territories. The center will be located at one of the premises owned or rented by QOU in Ramallah city.
BERC is currently funded through a grant from the EU within the framework of ERASMUS+ program. In the near future, the center will be self-sustained through various research and training activities, as well as consulting services. The center will also be partially funded by QOU budget and grants from interested local and international donors. QOU’s management has demonstrated complete dedication to fund the activities of the center when needed. BERC doesn’t only offer opportunities for students and researcher in QOU, but also has opportunities for a wide variety of individuals, researchers and educational institutions and organizations in Palestine.
